KANPUR: The mercury rose further on Wednesday, making the minimum temperature touch the mark of 10.9 degrees Celsius. The humidity level also shot up in the day. Meanwhile, a blanket of clouds and dust was also witnessed in the morning hours.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 24.2 degrees for the third consecutive day. According to weather scientists of Chandra Shekhar Azad (CSA) University of Agriculture and Technology, this continuous rise in mercury is due to clear skies and sudden changing wind patterns.
"The wind trend from northern westerlies or south westerlies has changed suddenly to easterlies. This will result in further rise in minimum and maximum temperatures," said C B Singh, a meteorologist at CSA varsity.
The Met official further said that the temperature is not dropping due to the presence of clouds and mist. "The weather would remain the same for some more days," added Singh.
