Meerut Mavericks defeat Lucknow Falcons by 91 runs

Kanpur: Meerut Mavericks defeated Lucknow Falcons by 91 runs and obtained top place in points table in the ongoing UP T-20 league played at Green Park on Wednesday.With this win, Meerut sat on top with 15 points while Noida Superkings is at the second place with 13 pointsThe Meerut team posted a total of 8 for 193 after some setbacks in the middle of the innings. Lucknow in reply surrendered and their innings folded on mere 102 runs. Both the teams tested their bench strength but the Meerut bench of bowlers proved their worth.Chasing the target Lucknow Falcons in the beginning of innings were in a critical position losing four wickets for 44 runs. They lost Shaurya Singh and Harsh Tyagi in the first two overs and lost Aaradhya and Sawan Singh in the fifth over dropped by Kuldeep Kumar. He claimed their wickets in two successive deliveries. Lucknow suffered one more shock when Suryavanshi, who was middling the ball perfectly, fell prey to A Tiwari for 22. Kuldeep was on the verge of a hattrick, but Ali Zafar disappointed him in the third ball. Wickets fell at regular intervals and soon the Lucknow team folded on 102 runs in 15.2 overs.For the Meerut team, new entrant Kuldeep Kumar and Abhinav Tiwari bagged three wickets each while spinner Yash Garg once again bagged 3 wickets.
