Devotees throng Hanuman temples on Budhwa Mangal

Kanpur: On the auspicious day of Budhwa Mangal, devotees thronged Hanuman temples across city. The temples were beautifully decorated to mark the occasion. The temples reverberated with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram' and the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa. The temple doors were opened at the stroke of midnight as devotees eagerly waited in line for darshan. To ensure the safety and security of the devotees, the police and administration were on high alert. Renowned temples such as Panki Dham, Dakshineshwar Hanuman Temple on GT Road, Sankatmochan Temple at Company Bagh Chauraha, Maunighat, Shri Balaji Temple in Nehrunagar, Sotebaba Hanuman Temple in Kidwainagar, Hanuman Temple in Chakeri, and Kurhani Temple in Ghatampur witnessed long queues of devotees since late night. The temple authorities made arrangements for separate lines for men and women devotees. Community feasts were organised at various locations throughout the city. After offering prayers at the temples, devotees enjoyed prasad. The temple authorities opted for strict measures to ensure well-being of the devotees. Police personnel were deployed at every corner, and kept a watchful eye through CCTV cameras.
