Manish Gupta's last rites performed at Kanpur ghat

KANPUR: The last rites of Manish Gupta, a local businessman who died at a Gorakhpur hotel on Monday night during a police raid, were performed at 6.45 am here on Thursday.

Police commissioner Asim Kumar Arun, who left the spot after second rounds of talks said, the family will be made to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.

was persuaded to perform the last rites on Thursday morning. Amidst heavy security arrangements, the funeral procession left for Bhairav Ghat at around 4:54 in the morning and reached Bhairav Ghat at 5.25.
