The matter is being investigated, said police said.According to the reports, a heated argument broke out between the couple on Sunday night, following which Kalicharan allegedly killed his wife by hitting on her head with a hammer. He then fled from the spot, the police said. Kalicharan then informed his married daughter, Chandni, about the incident who then informed the police, said a senior officer.“Victim’s daughter received a call from Kalicharan at around midnight on Sunday, wherein he told her that he had killed her mother. Preliminary investigation suggest that the man killed his wife with a hammer and fled. The man often used to fight with his wife over liquor. However, the exact reason behind the incident is being investigated,” said station house officer Dinesh Tiwari. Weapon of offence was recovered from spot, he added. TNN
