Kanpur South advances in memorial cricket tournament

Kanpur: Ansh Tiwari's knock of 96 runs propelled Kanpur South to defeat PAC by 7 wickets, securing a spot in the quarter-final of Kalawati Devi memorial cricket tournament at Kanpur South ground on Monday.
PAC, batting first, accumulated 9 for 177 in 35 overs. Shivam Sharma and Anmol Ratan were their principal scorers with 44 and 34 runs respectively.Kanpur South successfully chased down the target, scoring 180 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 30.2 overs. Besides Ansh, Raunak Singh contributed 46 runs while Aman Yadav remained unbeaten at 23 runs.

Registration for TSH coaching: The new session for sports coaching of children belonging to economically weaker sections will commence from December 2. Registration forms will be distributed from November 11, said PK Srivastava, director operations, Sports Hub (TSH). The distribution of registration forms has already commenced, and coaching will be provided in 10 sports disciplines. The last date of submitting registration forms is November 17. Trials will commence from November 23, with coaching scheduled to begin from December 2. The coordination committee comprising Sanjeev Pathak, Devesh Dubey, Rajeev Garg and Harsh Agarwal decided to offer coaching in badminton, basketball, boxing, judo, kabaddi, karate, shooting, swimming, table tennis and taekwondo.
Srivastava said that qualified national and international level coaches would provide training using world-class facilities available at TSH.
Festival match: Pink Shark XI women triumphed over Crazy Kites XI by 16 runs at NRI city on Sunday evening under floodlights. Pink Shark, batting first, posted 1 for 99 in ten overs, subsequently restricting Crazy Kites to 6 for 83 runs. Mahak was awarded woman of the match, while Nikita and Pallavi were recognised as best batswoman and bowler respectively.
