ITI College instructor caught red-handed taking bribe

Jhansi: An instructor of ITI college was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 by the anti-corruption team here on Friday.The incident was reported from the Government ITI College in Mauranipur, 70 kilometres from Jhansi. Two first year students Vedant Ahirwar and Bobby Raja were asked to pay Rs 5000 each as bribe by the accused instructor-teacher of the electronics department Renu Verma for the verification of their CBT post in which they will be allowed to sit in the examination.When the students objected, Renu, a resident of Jhansi, lowered the amount to Rs 3000 each. Not willing to pay the money, the duo approached the anti-corruption department. After lodging the complaint, a twelve-member team, including women sleuths of the department led by inspector Arvind Kumar Singh reached the college on Friday. They handed over the currency laced with chemicals to the victims.The moment the victims handed over the money to Renu in her office situated on the first floor of the ITI College, the sleuths caught her red-handed. The entire college was stunned and shocked after knowing the matter.Renu was taken to the Mauranipur Kotwali where she was booked under related sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. “She will be taken to Jhansi where to be presented in the court of the special magistrate”, Arvind Singh said.
