GST team seizes bundles of goods without bills from Kanpur station

Kanpur: A GST team, led by additional city magistrate-II Akansha Gautam raided the Kanpur Central railway station on Tuesday and seized 142 bundles of goods which were without proper bills.
The GST team seized hosiery goods and betel nuts used in paan masala. The consignment was illegal in a big tax evasion case. The seized items were sent to the GST godown.
According to a source in the office of the district administration, the district magistrate received secret information in her CUG number that goods have been loaded in Kalindi Express train and GST of lakhs of rupees has been evaded.
The district magistrate took cognizance of the information and sent a team led by ACM-II Akansha Gautam.
