Elderly man out for morning walk attacked by bees, dies
Kanpur: A senior citizen died of an attack by a swarm of bees while he was on morning walk in Cantt area of the city on Tuesday morning. The man sustained grave injuries from the bee attack. His friends accompanying him informed his family and took him to 7 Air Force Hospital where doctors declared him dead.Ravishankar Agarwal (70), a prominent iron trader residing in Rail Bazaar area of Kanpur, has two daughters. One lives in the United States, while the other lives with him. On Tuesday morning he left his car near the Kanpur Club with his driver and went for a walk with his friends. During the morning walk, he lagged a bit behind his friends.Suddenly, a swarm of bees attacked him causing him to fall on the road. By the time his friends reached him to help, the bees had stung him severely. His friends immediately took him to the 7 Air Force Hospital, where doctors declared Ravishankar Agarwal dead upon arrival. Sudhir mentioned that his family includes his wife Uma and two daughters, Surbhi and Shruti. Surbhi lives in America, and the last rites will be held on April 3 after her arrival.His friends were deeply shaken by the tragic incident. Cantonment police station incharge Arvind Kumar Rai stated that they are aware of the death due to a bee attack, and investigations are ongoing. Recently, a young man in the Ghatampur area died from bee attack. A few months ago, another young man in the Bilhaur area also died from bee stings.
