CSMU convocation: Aadesh gets Chancellor’s gold, Kriti wins silver
Kanpur: Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University held its 34th
The ceremony was inaugurated by Governor Anandiben Patel, chief guest Prof Nirmal Kumar Ganguly, Padam Shree Prof HR Nagendra, higher education minister Nilima Katiyar and vice-chancellor Prof Neelima Gupta.
On this occasion, 55 meritorious students were honoured with 83 medals and prizes. Besides, the governor distributed school bags and other gifts among 25 children of primary school. Prof HR Nagendra was given the Honorary degree on the occasion.
Aadesh Kumar, a student of MA Drawing and Painting was awarded the Chancellor’s gold and silver medal for the best student across all faculties, Chancellor’s Bronze medal and Vice Chancellor’s gold medal. He had scored 86.3%.
Kriti Gupta of MA Music was awarded the Chancellor’s silver medal for the best student with 83.2% marks. Shailja Tiwari, Arti Singh, Vartika Yadav, Shivani Singh, Astha Patel, Anshita Singh, Kaushiki Dubey, Noor Alam, Mohd Gayas Ansari, Ruchita Shukla, Anjali Gupta, Shakina Shamim, Shubham Singh, Arushi Gupta, Pratibha Prajapati, Nidhi Mishra, Narendra Singh, Akhand Pratap Singh, Aparna Tripathi, Neha Mishra, Priyanka Gupta were awarded the Chancellor’s bronze medal.
Sakshi Srivastava of University Institute of Health Sciences was awarded with Nandrani gold medal. A total of 45 students received the sponsored medal on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the governor said that youth’s health is important for the country to progress and added that PM Narendra Modi’s concern for health of youths was the reason behind launch of Ayushmaan scheme and Fit India movement. People should change their lifestyle to stay fit, she added saying that children will be healthy and nourished only if women of the country stay fit.
Chief guest Prof Ganguly highlighted the importance of education for the growth of the society and the country, Prof Nagendra talked about the importance of yoga in staying fit.
Prior to taking part in the convocation ceremony, the governor inaugurated an international swimming pool on the campus. Those interested will have to gete registered themselves before taking a plunge in the newly constructed pool. CSJM university registrar Vinod Kumar Singh, senior teachers Sandeep Singh, Sandesh Gupta, Brijesh Katiyar, Dr Praveen Katiyar and other HoDs were present during the convocation function.
