Cops question 50 suspects, scan footage of 500 CCTVs

Kanpur: The investigating team has so far interrogated 50 suspects and examined footage of nearly 500 CCTV cameras in connection with the case of suspected attempt to derail the Kalindi Express.Additional commissioner of police, law & order Harish Chander stated, "We are meticulously investigating each and every angle sequentially. The suspects are being rigorously questioned in every village within a 10 km radius of the incident. As of now, 50 suspects have been questioned, besides 500 CCTV cameras have been scanned. The history of everyone, related with the case, is being thoroughly scrutinised. Whoever was present and has now returned to their residence is being subjected to comprehensive interrogation.""Numerous suspects have been discharged after extensive questioning. One among them is the history-sheeter Shahrukh," he added.An official intimately involved in the investigation revealed that the interrogation of the history-sheeter Shahrukh yielded no incriminating evidence or suspicious information. Nevertheless, security agencies have commenced a meticulous examination of mobile phone of the history-sheeter to ascertain his network of contacts over the preceding year.
