Car rally to create awareness about Lok Adalat
Kanpur: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in collaboration with the Kanpur Bar Association and The Lawyers Association, will organise a car rally to spread awareness among citizens about the upcoming National Lok Adalat and its benefits. The National Lok Adalat is scheduled to be held on May 9.
Addressing a press conference, District Judge and Chairperson of DLSA, Anmol Pal, said that the primary objective of the Lok Adalat is to provide an accessible, speedy and cost-effective system of justice to the public. He appealed through the media for maximum participation, urging people to attend the Lok Adalat and resolve their cases amicably.
DLSA Secretary Abhinav Tiwari informed that the rally will commence from the Kanpur court campus at around 3:30 pm.
Kanpur Bar Association general secretary Vinay Mishra said that around 15 cars will take part in the rally. The route will cover key areas of the city, including Bara Chauraha, Mall Road, Ghantaghar, Shyam Nagar, Govind Nagar and Medical College before concluding at the court campus. The vehicles will display posters and banners highlighting the advantages of Lok Adalat.
Nodal officer Rashmi Singh said that the Lok Adalat will take up cases related to bank recovery, tenancy, mobile and cable disputes, income tax, succession, family disputes, motor accident claims, cheque bounce, commercial tax, revenue matters, land consolidation, labour disputes, traffic challans and compoundable criminal cases.
She further added that traffic challans can also be settled online through the official vcourts.gov.in portal, allowing citizens to resolve such matters from home.
Tiwari added that extensive preparations are underway in coordination with various departments, banks and advocates to ensure the success of the Lok Adalat. He urged the public to take full advantage of the initiative by approaching the concerned courts or the DLSA office for settlement of their pending cases.
