Bus collides with loader, driver & attendant hurt

Kanpur: A driver and an attendant were injured after a private bus collided with a loader at the GT road in Bilhaur police area of the district. “A private bus carrying passengers collided head-on with a loader near Uttari village on the GT Road. The loader driver and the cleaner of the bus were injured in the accident. The two were admitted to a nearby hospital,” said the police.Following the accident, traffic was thrown out of gear on the GT road. The police on being informed rushed to the spot and resumed traffic. The private bus running between Kannauj to Kanpur was heading towards the City (Kanpur) with more than 45 passengers on Saturday evening. However, the bus collided with a loader coming from the opposite direction near Uttari village on GT Road. The bus and loader were majorly damaged in the accident. The loader driver Pradeep Singh, a resident of Madhavganj, Hardoi, and attendant of the bus Pappu Singh, of Sadikamau, Shivrajpur, were injured.The passengers of the bus however had a narrow escape. The driver of the bus fled after the accident. The police on being informed rushed to the spot and sent both the injured to the CHC for treatment.Inspector Bilhaur Surendra Singh said two persons have suffered minor injuries. “We have impounded the bus and loader. On the basis of a complaint, further action will be taken,” he added.
