At IIT-K workshop, experts brainstorm over infra, cyber safety

Kanpur: C3iHub, a cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) of The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) hosted the third National Workshop on Technology Innovation in Cyber-Physical Systems (TIPS), on Friday. NITI Aayog member V K Saraswat inaugurated the workshop in the presence of senior advisor DST and SERB secretary Akhilesh Gupta, chairman, Axilor Ventures, Bengaluru, Kris Gopalakrishnan, officiating director, IIT Kanpur Professor S Ganesh and mission director, NM-ICPS DST, Ekta Kapoor. The dignitaries also inaugurated an expo where 25 TIHs showcased their cutting-edge technologies and research advancements. The workshop was organised to facilitate direct interaction between the NM-ICPS Mission office, its expert committee members and TIH fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Manindra Agrawal, project director C3iHub, IIT Kanpur said, “The C3iHub which is one of the 25 TIHs is the first of its kind Cyber Security Centre in India, that is in the process of building solutions to safeguard critical infrastructures such as water and sewage systems, power grid, nuclear plants, and rockets and missile control.” Prof S Ganesh said, “The C3iHub has delivered many major cutting-edge technologies, starting from blockchain-based digital degrees to security operations center facilities at National Highway Authority, Ports and for cybercrime inspection tool to help police.”

IIT-K prof bags JC Bose Fellowship

Professor Nitin Saxena from IIT Kanpur's Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been awarded the JC Bose Fellowship by the Science and Engineering Research Board. The fellowship recognizes Saxena's contributions to computational complexity theory, algebra, geometry, and number theory. He will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 25,000 and a research grant of Rs 15 lakh per annum for five years. Saxena has also been elected a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and has received other prestigious awards for his work in theoretical computer science and mathematics.

NITI Aayog workshop for women entrepreneurs

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) of NITI Aayogs will hold a workshop on October 3 in Panaji, Goa, to promote women-led development. The event will feature discussions on mentoring, skill development, access to finance, and compliance. It aims to raise awareness about WEP and launch various initiatives. The workshop will provide valuable resources to women entrepreneurs, allowing them to share experiences and gain knowledge. Cybersecurity workshop held

Delhi Public School (DPS) in Bokaro organized a workshop on cybercrime to educate and empower students about digital threats. Cybersecurity expert Deepak Kumar emphasized the importance of cyber security awareness in today's digital age. The workshop covered topics like cyberbullying and online frauds, using real-life examples to illustrate the dangers. DPS Bokaro principal, A S Gangwar, highlighted the need to equip young minds with knowledge and skills to navigate the digital landscape safely.
