KANPUR: The committee constituted to look into the April 4 violence on Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology campus has identified 35 more students involved in the incident.
The panel is busy identifying instigators of violence on the campus that led to loss of property. Owing to the violence, the then vice-chancellor Prof PK Sharma had to step down.

The panel would issue notices to these 35 students asking them to explain their act before meting out punishment to those found guilty. So far over 55 students have been identified by the probe panel. Among these students, 18 have already submitted evidence before the CSA administration proving that they were not present on the campus during violence.
Guilty students would be punished according to the gravity of their involvement in the arson. The process of identifying perpetrators and actors of violence is expected to be over by Monday. Talking to TOI CSA varsity spokesperson Naushad Khan said, "The process of identifying students involved in the arson will be over by Monday. These students have been identified on the basis of video footages and photographs. Once identified, students will be asked to explain their act. Later, the probe committee would decide the punishment. The final decision will rest with the vice-chancellor." The punishment to be meted out to guilty students could include termination from course, imposition of fine or disciplinary action.
Khan expressed concern over the fact several students named in the FIR were not even present on the campus during April 4 arson.
