Girl severely injured after hair entangled in swing in Kannauj

Kanpur: A 15-year-old girl suffered severe injuries as her hair ripped off along with the scalp after her hair got entangled in the rod of swings in Kannauj. The video of the incident went viral on social media.
The girl was immediately taken to a private hospital from here she was referred to Kanpur due to severity of her injuries.
The incident took place in Talgram police station jurisdiction.Anuradha, daughter of Dharmendra Katheria from Madhav Nagar, had gone to a fair organised by Swami Nityanand Sewa Samiti on Sunday evening. Whilst she was on a swing, her hair got entangled in a rod above. Hearing her cry in pain, the staff halted the swing promptly but by then her hair, along with the scalp, had ripped off from her head leaving her hairless.
She fell unconscious due to extreme pain and bleeding. Dharmendra was at work at the time of incident and rushed back on being informed. The injured girl was taken to a private hospital in Gursahaiganj from where she was referred to KGMU, Lucknow. Subsequently, she was transferred to a medical college in Lucknow for specialised treatment.
Talgram police station in charge Shashikant Kanaujiya said on the basis of a complaint of girl's mother Rekha Devi a case has been registered against swing operator Karan Kashyap.
"We are conducting raids to locate his whereabouts. Anuradha, who, as per the doctors, was initially critical and knocked out of senses, has regained consciousness," he said and added, "The girl comes from a poor financial background, her father is a village chowkidar of Talgram."
