KANPUR: A cylinder blast claimed the life of a man in the Rail Bazaar police station area of Kanpur on Tuesday morning. The police quickly arrived at the scene, secured the body, and started their investigation.
The incident occurred near Dhai Patti, opposite Faithfulganj School, when the cylinder exploded while being handled. Mohammad Rauf (65), a resident of Gora Cemetery in the Faithfulganj outpost and the son of Mohammad Shafi, was working with the cylinder at the time of the explosion, which resulted in his death.
The blast severely damaged his extremities, face, and torso.
DCP (East) Shravan Kumar Singh confirmed that the fatality was due to the sudden cylinder explosion.
The investigation team has collected evidence from the scene, and further action will be taken after completing the inquiry.
