SI, ASI fail to report loot, suspended

Jodhpur: Two police officers were suspended in Phalodi on Tuesday for exercising negligence in discharging their duties. These officers include a sub-inspector and an assistant sub-inspector, both posted at Phalodi police station.
Superintendent of police (Phalodi) Pooja Awana, while confirming their suspension, said that they had not reported an incident of loot.
“Treating it as a grave negligence in discharging their duties, we have suspended SI Hanuwant Singh and ASI Radha Kishan on Tuesday,” said Awana.
Some robbers had attacked a solar power plant in Ugras village in Phalodi last week. They had opened fire to threaten the security guards at the plant and had decamped with a large number of solar panels.
According to the sources, both the officers had reported the incident to their immediate senior officers but not the police control room, which led to delay in the arrival of the police team to the spot.
