JIND: High voltage drama prevailed after protesting women removed a wine shop in Hat village of Safidon town of Jind district. They have been demanding to shift the liquor vend from the location but they had to take action after the issue couldn't be settled.

Women alleged that the wine shop was set up near a government school. It caused an uneasiness for the school going children especially for girls. People used to comment on women as well as it falls on the main way of the village. This liquor vend will have an adverse impact on children who pass from this place everyday. Women had alleged that earlier this wine shop was located in another location but now it was being shifted near the school premises which is a few meters from the spot. Women will not tolerate the shifting of this vend near the spot at any cost, they added.

Meanwhile, dial 112 (emergency response support system) was called at the spot but women couldn't be pacified. Women threw out all the liquor cartons stuffed with bottles in the street from the shop. Subsequently, the liquor contractor reached the spot and went away after collecting bottles.

Police officials said that no complaint has been received in this matter so far. Women opposed the site and they removed the shop. Situation is peaceful in the village and a tab is being kept, he added.
