ROHTAK: Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala, upon his return from a three-nation tour on Saturday morning, said the state government had no plans to write off farm loans.

His said this in response to protests organized by farmer outfits and opposition parties in Haryana against the recent killing of five farmers in Mandsaur in

Madhya Pradesh

.

The protestors were demanded a debt waiver for farm loans and an early implementation of the Swaminathan commission report.

Both the Congress and the INLD have labeled the BJP government in Haryana and at the Centre as "anti-farmer" and have accused them of not taking steps to rescue farmers from financial duress.

Expressing concern for the farming community, Tohana MLA Subhash Barala, said the opposition was misguiding the farming community by staging protest over the agriculture loan waiver in the state.

Speaking about the demands raised by the farmers, Barala said the government was working towards implementation of the recommendations of the M S Swaminathan commission.

However, about waiving farm loans, he said, "Every state has a different set of circumstances and Haryana government has no such plans as of now."

He alleged that the opposition parties had no real issues to raise and were resorting to propaganda to save their base.

On the GST bill, he said that the bill was passed after getting consensus by taking all political parties on board and the government was committed to implementing it with least trouble to the people of the state.
