Youth’s body found in canal, cops suspect suicide

KOTA: Body of a 24-year-old youth identified as Mayank Sharma, a resident of Jungalat Gate in Sakatpura area was recovered from a canal on Sunday noon, said Yogesh Sharma, sub-inspector at Kunhari police station. Passers-by on Sunday noticed the body in the canal near an ashram in Sakatpura area and informed the police following which police reached there and recovered the body from the canal, he added.
The youth had gone missing from his home from Friday night following which his family members lodged a missing report in the police station, the SI added.
It is most likely a case of suicide but the police is yet to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step. However, no suicide note was recovered from the body, he said.
The deceased youth worked as a computer data operator in a coaching institute of the city. Primary inquiry indicates that there was no family disturbance or stress and depression due to employment, SI Yogesh Sharma said.
