JAIPUR: The Rajasthan high court on Monday stayed the private colleges pre-medical entrance test (PCPMT), which was scheduled for June 10, following allegations of lack of monitoring mechanism to ensure fairness in the exam.

A vacation bench comprising Justices R S Rathore and V S Siradhana issued notices to the Centre and the state% government authorities seeking replies on the PIL by July 2.
The high court also issued notices to five private medical colleges in the state as well as the MDS University, Ajmer that were conducting the exam for admission to 150 seats in each of these institutions. The medical colleges include the Pacific Medical College & Hospital (Udaipur), Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (Udaipur), Geetanjali Medical College (Udaipur), Jodhpur Medical College (Jodhpur) and the NIMS (Jaipur).
The PIL filed by Mukesh Babu Gupta, whose daughter was to appear for the exam on June 10, alleged that the eligibility conditions for candidates and the pattern of marking the answer-sheets were done in an arbitrary manner, as there was no monitoring by the Centre or the state medical authorities.
