Women’s morphed photos uploaded on social media

JAISALMER: A case has come to light in which morphed nude photos of rural women and girls have been uploaded on Facebook and Instagram. The rural women’s faces have been morphed on foreigners’ bodies. Police have written a letter to Facebook and asked for information. Police suspect that some close relative of the victims has done this because he knows the women personally.
Faces of women and girls of Chatrel village in the district were pasted on nude bodies of foreign women and uploaded on social sites.The photos have gone viral on WhatsApp group too. The ID on the Instagram is anonymous.
Villagers came to know when the screenshots of the photos were shared with them. The victims belong to eight families and are related to each other. The affected families lodged a complaint at Sadar police station. However, no clues could be found, after which irate villagers reached the office of additional SP and told him about their plight. The victims are scared after this incident and are unable to understand how their photos reached someone.
Additional SP Jainarayan Meena confirming the case said a complaint has been received from Chatrel village. He said that a case has been lodged under IT Act and SHO concerned has been directed to take prompt action. A letter too has been written to Facebook and the culprit will be nabbed based on the IP address. He added that there is a possibility that the culprit is known or a relative of these women.
