Two IPS officers promoted to DG
Jaipur: The Rajasthan govt Sunday promoted two IPS officers to the rank of director general of police (DG), with the new designation taking effect from July 1.According to an order issued by the department of personnel (DoP), Ashok Kumar Rathore and Malini Agarwal, both 1994-batch IPS officers, were elevated from the post of additional director general of police (ADGP) to the DG rank. "The above officers shall continue to work on their respective present post till further orders," the DoP order said.Rathore is currently serving as ADG (Training). In the past, he held key posts, including chief of the Special Operations Group (SOG), and the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). He also served as commissioner of Jodhpur Police and as ADG (Vigilance).Malini Agarwal is currently posted as ADG (Civil Rights and Anti-Human Trafficking), with additional charge as director general and commandant general of Home Guards. Her previous assignments include ADG (Training), ADG (Jail), and IG of Bharatpur and Ajmer.Sources said the govt is likely to announce a reshuffle in the IPS cadre shortly. The transfer list is expected to follow the appointment of a new DGP, which is also anticipated today.
