Truck mows down 22-year-old man, injures brother in Jaipur
JAIPUR: A 22-year-old man was killed and his 18-year-old brother was critically injured after a truck rammed their motorcycle near Rajawas under Harmada police station limits on Tuesday around 5am.Police identified the deceased as Gajendra Singh and the injured as his younger brother Divyam, both residents of Jaipur. The two were on their way to Samod when the accident occurred.According to police, an unidentified truck coming from the wrong direction collided head-on with the motorcycle, leaving both brothers critically injured on the highway. The impact threw them off the bike, and the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the crash.The Tatiyawas toll patrolling team responded quickly and shifted the injured to Kanwatia Hospital in Jaipur. However, Gajendra Singh succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while Divyam remains under medical care.Station in-charge Uday Singh said police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information, secured the area and took the body into custody. A post-mortem was conducted at Kanwatia Hospital mortuary, after which the body was handed over to the family.
Police said they launched a search for the absconding truck driver and are scouting nearby areas along the highway to identify the vehicle.Family members said the two brothers regularly visited a Hanuman temple in Samod every Tuesday of the month. Gajendra was pursuing graduation, while Divyam is in school.
