“People usually cross the tracks here. The train ran over Babulal Koli and Rajeev resulting in their deaths on the spot while Laxman was seriously injured,” said a police officer.
He added that the train driver and the passersby informed the police following which a team was rushed there.
The mutilated bodies of Babulal and Rajeev were found on the tracks. All the three belonged to areas near Model Town in Malviya Nagar.
“They did not know each other. Postmortem of the bodies have been conducted and further investigation is on,” said the officer.
In another mishap, 35-year-old Govind Sahay was run over by a train near Arjun Nagar railway crossing on Sunday night.
“It seems he was trying to cross the road. We are not ruling out suicide also. Further investigation is on,” said a police officer. Govind was a computer operation in a private company.
A number of deaths on the railway tracks have been reported in the city recently. An Afghanistan resident, who was pursuing civil engineering from MNIT in Jaipur, had been killed and his friend injured in Malviya Nagar last week.
