Three killed, one hurt as auto collides with tractor
JAIPUR: Three persons died and one was other was injured after an auto in which they were travelling collided with a tractor carrying bricks near Sadwa Road on
The police said that the tractor driver fled from the spot without bothering to take the injured to the hospital. “The accident took place at 6.30 am when the auto was travelling on the right lane at a normal speed. It is suspected that the tractor driver was driving at high speed and lost control of the vehicle,” the official said.
The bodies were kept at the mortuary of the SMS Hospital as the police tried to identify them. Later in the afternoon the trio was identified with the help of locals and the registration number of the auto rickshaw.
“Their bodies were handed over to the families for final rites after conducting post-mortem,” the official added. The police have filed a case against the unidentified driver for rash and reckless driving along with other relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.
“The trio had left the home early in the morning to buy some raw materials. While they were travelling back, the accident took place. We have retrieved the CCTV footage of the area to track the driver and arrest him,” the official informed TOI, adding that the traffic was normal at the spot when the accident took place.
