Three killed in two accidents in Jaipur

Three persons including two women were killed in two different accidents in Jaipur on Friday.According to the accident police station (west), the first mishap took place near an express highway in the Murlipura area where a speeding pick-up vehicle mowed down two women.

JAIPUR: Three persons including two women were killed in two different accidents in Jaipur on Friday.
According to the accident police station (west), the first mishap took place near an express highway in the Murlipura area where a speeding pick-up vehicle mowed down two women.
The victims were listed by the police as Shila Devi, a resident of the Murlipura scheme, and Koshaliya, a resident of Machra in the Harmada area.

The police said that three other persons, Mahesh, Rishab and Ajay were injured in the accident.
As per the police, the five persons were waiting for the bus when the pick-up vehicle careened off due to excessive speed and mowed down the five persons.
The injured were taken to the hospital where two women died during the treatment. The police said that the vehicle was seized while the driver fled from the scene.
The police said that they have scanned the CCTVs of nearby areas to track down the driver. “There was a huge commotion following the accident. The driver immediately darted out of the vehicle and fled,” the official said.
The police said that the bodies of the two victims were shifted to the mortuary. They said that the bodies would be handed over after the post-mortem. As per the officials, a case was filed against the driver for reckless driving.

“We have seized the vehicle and efforts are being made to track its owner. It is likely that the vehicle was owned by someone else,” said an official.
In another accident, a speeding truck mowed down a 23-year-old man on Sirsi Road on Friday morning. The police said that the incident took place under the limits of Karni Vihar police station where Ajay Sharma, a resident of Jamwaramgarh, was riding pillion on his friend’s bike.
“A tanker-mounted truck first hit the bike due to which Ajay was tossed in the air, the same truck ran over Ajay,” the official said.
The police said that Ajay’s friend was also injured in the accident. “He worked in a private cable company. He was riding with his friend for some work when the truck ploughed him down,” the official added.
