Jhunjhunu: Police Thursday arrested three identified accused — Subhash Godara, Manoj Kumar, and Lekhram Kadwasra — in the murder of hotel businessman Maniram Manda, who was shot dead in a firing incident at a hotel in Bidasar, Churu, allegedly over rivalry in the liquor business.Churu SP Jai Yadav said the arrests were made in connection with the murder that took place around midnight on March 2. He said other detained accused are being interrogated.

Police said preliminary investigation found that Bidasar police station history sheeter Devi Singh Kheriya "hatched a conspiracy and planned the entire murder," while Raju Nehra, Dhannaram Momasar, and another accused carried out indiscriminate firing at the hotel. Maniram Manda died on the spot and three others were injured. A case was registered at Bidasar police station against seven named accused and others.Alongside the arrests, Nagar Palika officials and employees, with the police administration, sealed a hotel allegedly being run in partnership using "the proceeds of crime" by accused Devi Singh Kheriya. Speaking to TOI, Yadav said, "Along with legal action, proceedings are being carried out to inflict financial damage on the accused by sealing and attaching properties acquired through crime."
Nagar Palika Acting EO Poonamchand said commercial construction had been carried out on a plot approved for residential purposes, for which notice was served and the property seized. He said unauthorised construction outside the under-construction house of Devi Singh in Ward No 4 was demolished, and the house was seized after a notice was pasted outside.Tehsildar Amarsingh said, "A murder took place at a hotel in town on the day of Holi," adding that illegal properties of the suspect are being investigated and seized, and "the govt is in action mode."
