JAIPUR: Reacting to chief minister
Ashok Gehlot's allegation that
BJP national president Nitin Gadkari and general secretary Vasundhara Raje have been conspiring to disrupt peace in the state, Raje on Sunday dared Gehlot to take action against them. On Saturday, Gehlot also alleged that many BJP leaders have been involved in aggravating the Gujjar agitation.
"Prove that Gujjars are being provoked by BJP leaders.
If Gehlot has any evidence against the BJP leaders, then the chief minister should initiate action against us," she said.
Raje termed the allegations as a shallow attempt to hide government's incompetency to handle the situation. "The chief minister has been reprimanded by senior leaders of his own party and as usual, he has resorted to make baseless allegations to divert public attention," she added.
Raje said Gujjar reservation issue has gathered steam during the previous tenure of Ashok Gehlot government. "Instead of providing solution, the cabinet passed a proposal for reservation to economic weaker sections and forwarded it to the prime minister. The 2008 reservation act drafted by the BJP government was also passed with approval of
Congress leaders," she said.
