SHO shifted to lines after video of abusing complainant goes viral in Bhilwara
Bhilwara: A station house officer in Bhilwara district was shifted to lines after a video purportedly showing him abusing and threatening a complainant in a land dispute went viral on social media, police said Wednesday.
The video, purportedly featuring Baneda SHO Bachchhraj Chaudhary, surfaced late Tuesday. The incident is linked to a land dispute in which both parties approached the Baneda police station with complaints. In the video, the officer is allegedly seen reprimanding a complainant, Prabhulal, and threatening him with legal action. The authenticity of the video and the circumstances under which it was recorded are currently under investigation.
Chaudhary denied the allegations, claiming the clip was selectively edited. He said police called both parties to the station in an attempt to resolve the dispute through counselling and discussion.
Bhilwara SP Sagar Rana said an inquiry has been ordered under the supervision of an additional superintendent of police. Pending the probe, Chaudhary has been shifted to lines. He added that using abusive language in place of counselling will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
