SGI, Piramal Fin tie up to expand insurance reach

Jaipur: Shriram General Insurance (SGI) entered into a strategic corporate agency partnership with Piramal Finance to expand insurance accessibility across India, particularly in semi-urban and rural markets.Under the agreement, SGI will leverage Piramal Finance's branch network, spanning 701 branches across 26 states and over 13,000 pin codes, to distribute its portfolio of insurance products.Piramal Finance MD and CEO Jairam Sridharan said that the partnership would help bring simple and inclusive insurance products closer to customers, noting that low penetration in smaller towns leaves families vulnerable to financial shocks. tnn
