Jaipur: A Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer posted as sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Karauli district has been suspended following her arrest in a bribery case, an official order said Saturday.
Kajal Meena, who was serving as SDM in Nadoti, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on April 16 after she was found prima facie involved in an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The ACB also arrested her reader Dinesh Kumar Saini and senior assistant Praveen Dhakad in Nadoti town for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 in connection with issuing a final decree in a land dispute case.
According to ACB, a complaint alleged that the accused initially demanded Rs 1 lakh and later agreed to accept Rs 50,000 to process the decree.
The accused were caught red-handed while allegedly taking the bribe, officials said.
As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel on Saturday, Meena has been placed under suspension with effect from April 16, the date of her arrest. During the suspension period, her headquarters will be the state secretariat in Jaipur.
