Raje prays at Tanot Mata temple on her birthday
Jaisalmer: Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje performed a special prayer and ceremonial ritual at the Tanot Mata Temple near India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer on her birthday Saturday. Accompanying her were Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, former MLA Sang Singh Bhati, former MLA Jitendra Singh, BJP's Jaisalmer city president Arun Purohit, and numerous BJP members.Raje arrived in Jaisalmer Friday evening by road from Jodhpur and proceeded directly to the Tanot Mata Temple. She participated in the temple's aarti and spent an hour in meditation, lodging overnight at Tanot. BSF Sector North DIG Yogendra Singh Rathore, other officials, and BJP members welcomed her upon arrival. Birthday celebrations included cake-cutting ceremonies at various locations in Jaisalmer. Attendees eagerly sought photographs with her. Local folk artistes performed celebratory songs and shehnai recitals. Responding to queries about assuming national organisational responsibilities, Raje said she had offered prayers for national prosperity and welfare of the country's soldiers. Raje expressed optimism about BJP's continued growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
