NEW DELHI: A 32-year-old man is accused of tying his wife to his motorbike and dragging her around the village, according to police reports from Tuesday. This disturbing incident happened last month in Naharsinghpura village, Nagaur district, Rajasthan. The whole event was filmed, and the video has been widely shared on social media.
The disturbing incident came to light when a video of the woman being dragged behind the motorcycle surfaced on social media on Monday. Upon investigation, the police arrested Meghwal for disturbing the peace.
It was revealed that the victim is currently residing with her relatives and had not reported the matter to the authorities.
Neighbors of the accused have described him as an alcoholic who frequently assaulted his wife. They also mentioned that Meghwal prevented his wife from communicating with anyone in the village.
Assistant sub-inspector Surendra Kumar from Panchaudi police station stated that further investigations into the case are ongoing.
