Jaisalmer: After Union home minister Amit Shah’s two day visit in the state, BJP state president Satish Poonia reached Pokhran on Sunday for the much-awaited Runicha Jan Ashish Padyatra. He started the 17 km footmarch to Ramdevra from Jajwala Mata Temple in Pokhran with no big leader by his side from the party. After reaching Ramdevra, he offered prayers at the temple of Baba Ramdev.
The scheduled program was postponed as preparations were to be made for Shah's visit. According to sources, on Sunday, Poonia suddenly reached Jajwala Mata temple for darshan and started his foot march to Baba Ramdev Samadhi in Gomat village.
On getting information there was a stir among the party leaders and workers. However, later Pokhran former MLA Shaitan Singh Rathore, Mahant Pratap Puri, Panchayat Samiti Sakada Pradhan Bhagwat Singh Tanwar and others joined the state BJP chief.
Poonia said, “We have faith in the folk deity and often come to pray. I wanted to come to Ramdevra for quite a long time. Amit Shah’s visit has been very positive and gave a good message.” tnn
