Phalodi land scam : Arrested man LIC agent

Arjun Meghwal, arrested in connection with Phalodi land scam, is a well-educated person (MA). He is an agent of LIC and immovable property. He is in remand for nine days and cops are depending on him to crack this racket. Rupees 7 lakh has been recovered from him which cops believe he got it from forged deals.

JODHPUR: Arjun Meghwal, arrested in connection with Phalodi land scam, is a well-educated person (MA). He is an agent of LIC and immovable property. He is in remand for nine days and cops are depending on him to crack this racket. Rupees 7 lakh has been recovered from him which cops believe he got it from forged deals.
ASP (Phalodi) Kesar Singh investigating the scam said Meghwal was aware of the entire process of a land deal right from the role of a patwari to the registrar.

"We are interrogating him. There is an organized group behind the racket about which we have got significant leads. We are trying to nab more people involved in this. We will also interrogate the four people in the custody of Jodhpur city police," he said.
Of the four, three have been sent in judicial custody and Amar Singh has been remanded to five days police custody. SHO (Mahamandir) Kan Singh Bhati said these people acted as mediators in lure of commission and could not provide any significant information.
On the other hand, the Divisional Commissioner of Jodhpur, R K Jain, who has been entrusted with the inquiry of the scam, the report of which is to be submitted by the end of this week, visited Phalodi to get details about the deals.
Hanumanram Bishnoi patwari of village Kanasar has been suspended for his alleged involvement in the Phalodi issue.
