Non-veg food gets headmaster suspended in Rajasthan
JAIPUR: The headmaster of a primary govt school in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan was suspended Tuesday for allegedly getting non-vegetarian food cooked on campus, triggering outrage among locals.
A video showing the school cook preparing meat on the institute’s premises for the teacher, Amar Singh Meena, was circulated widely on social media platforms. The incident took place on Monday when the school in Hingota village of Gangapur city tehsil had extended winter vacations for students up to class 8 due to the cold wave.
After the video surfaced, district education officer Devilal Meena formed a threemember committee, which initiated an investigation.
In the video, a villager alleges that the school gates were locked from inside while the cook prepared non-vegetarian food for the headmaster. The locked gate raised suspicion among villagers who scaled the school’s boundary walls to enter the campus and saw what was happening.
When confronted, Meena is heard responding in the video, “Whatever you have seen, you can inform the district education officer, and they can take suitable action.”
