MLA Chandna threatens civic official, booked

Kota: Congress MLA from Hindoli and former minister Ashok Chandna was booked for allegedly threatening Hindoli municipality executive officer (EO) Jitendra Kumar Meena over an encroachment and lease investigation linked to one of his workers, police said Tuesday.Based on a complaint lodged by the EO Monday evening, Hindoli police registered a case against Chandna under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for using force to deter a public servant from discharging duty, Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation, and provisions of the SC/ST Act. The investigation has been handed over to CID-CB. Police said the case relates to an incident that allegedly took place on April 13 during Chandna's Jansunwai programme. tnn
