Minimum pension increased to 1000

Jaipur: The state government has increased the minimum monthly pension given under social security to Rs 1000 per month as per the Budget announcement.
Earlier, the minimum pension varied between Rs 500 and Rs 750 for different categories. Eligible applicants for old age, single women, specially abled, small and marginal farmer pensions will receive increased pension amount from May, which will be payable on June 1, 2023.The increase in pension rates in social security pension schemes will now put an additional burden of Rs 185 crore per month and Rs 2222.70 crore per year on the state government. Currently about Rs 700 crore is spent every month. tnn
