Meena announces probe into Cong-era scam

Jaipur: Rural development minister Kirori Lal Meena Thursday announced a high-level probe into an alleged scam of over Rs 1,450 crore linked to tank construction works under MGNREGA during the previous Congress regime. "As per our assessment, the scam exceeds Rs 1,450 crore. In Nagaur alone, no tanks were built, and irregularities of more than Rs 300 crore occurred. We will investigate that as well," Meena said.Panchayati raj minister Madan Dilawar announced that the state would grant leases to temples built on populated land through a special campaign. He also declared stricter norms for meat shops in villages, stating that city-like rules would now apply.
