JAISALMER: The
Border Security Force (BSF) jawans guarding the international borders hundreds of kilometres away from their families celebrated Diwali. For the first time BSF women constables also celebrated Diwali at the border. Jawans decorated the border outposts along IndoPak border with lamps and candles. They offered prayers at the temples and exchanged wishes with each other.
Union minister of state for law & justice P P Chaudhary and Arjun Meghwal, minister of state for finance celebrated the fes tival in Jodhpur and Bikaner sectors with BSF Jawans.
Jaisalmer MLA Chotu Singh Bhati and Seemajan Kalyan Samiti members celebrated Diwali with BSF jawans. BSF headquarters had made special arrangements so that the jawans do not feel lonely on the festival. Sweets, candles and other items were sent to the border posts.
Sector (North) DIG Amit Lodha said that Holi and Diwali are celebrated on the border. Constable Vikram said, “We all celebrate Diwali at the border, although we get phone calls from home and we do remember our families, but co untry's security comes first“.
Head constable Himmat Ram said that at the Indo-Pak border, people of all religions celebrate Diwali together. We feel as if we are with our families. ASI Rahim said that whether it is Eid or Diwali, all festivals are celebrated at the border. He added, “The HQ sends us crackers, sweets etc.“
Minister P P Choudhary visited Frontier HQ BSF (Jodhpur) and celebrated the festival with BSF jawans.
In Bikaner sector, minister Arjun Meghwal conveyed his wishes to BSF jawans and said that the entire country is very proud of BSF.
