KOTA: A 35-year-old man was shot dead and his seven-year-old son was critically injured after four armed assailants barged into their home in Bridiyakhedi village of Jhalawar district under Sadar police station Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Roop Singh and his son, Lekhraj is currently battling for life at SRG Hospital.

According to Jhalawar DSP Harshraj Singh, the attack was fallout of a dispute, that erupted in the morning between victim's brother, Dariya Singh and a neighbour, Dulhe Singh. During the morning scuffle, the accused had allegedly thrashed Roop Singh's father and sister-in-law.
Later, around 8 pm, Dulhe Singh and his three brothers-Jagdish, Jugram, and Raghuveer-stormed Dariya Singh's residence and opened fire indiscriminately.
While Roop Singh died on the spot, the accused managed to flee. tnn
