JAIPUR: Hundreds of villagers set a liquor shop on fire demanding its closure in Jhunjhunu's Udaipurwati area on Sunday. The villagers said that the shop was situated near a temple and they had been demanding that it be removed from the place. A meeting was held in the village on October 8 in which they had demanded that the shop be closed. However, authorities did not pay attention.
According to SHO, Udaipurwati,
Deepak Meena, the incident took place around 12.30 pm on Monday. "Villagers had gathered at the shop and were shouting slogans. Some of them suddenly got violent and set it on fire,' said Meena.
