Kaali poster: FIR against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai in Jaipur

JAIPUR: An FIR was registered against Toronto-based filmmaker Leena Manimekalai at Vaishali Nagar police station on Thursday after Shree Rajput Karni Sena (SRKS) lodged a complaint about the controversial poster of ‘Kaali’.
Vaishali Nagar SHO Heera Lal said the case was registered against the filmmaker under IPC Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings).He said that several groups, including SRKS, had lodged a complaint against the filmmaker over the film’s poster.
SRKS leader Mahipal Singh Makrana said the poster showing Goddess Kali smoking and holding a pride flag hurt the sentiments of people who have faith in the Goddess.
