Junior assistant’s wealth swells 938% beyond income;

Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Friday unearthed alleged disproportionate assets worth crores during coordinated raids in Bikaner and Phalodi, recovering Rs 76 lakh, over 1.5kg of gold and multiple properties from a junior assistant posted in a gram panchayat.The accused, Shubhkaran Parihar, is posted at Gram Panchayat Udat under Panchayat Samiti Bap in Phalodi district. An ACB case was registered after a confidential complaint alleged he amassed wealth far beyond his known sources of income during postings at Gram Panchayat Kanasar and later at Udat.
Following directions from ACB headquarters in Jaipur, the Special Unit in Bikaner conducted discreet verification. The inquiry found that the assets allegedly acquired were 938% higher than his lawful income. A formal disproportionate assets case was then registered and search warrants obtained. Under the supervision of DIG ACB Range Bikaner Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, teams conducted early-morning searches at five locations. Raids were carried out at three premises in Bikaner city, including Jaynarayan Vyas Colony and Mateshwari Enclave on Jaipur Road, besides Bagginada in Gangashahar. Searches were also conducted at his native village Punarasar and at Gram Panchayat Kanasar in Phalodi. Officials said about Rs 76 lakh was recovered from his residence. The officials said 1.5kg of gold and around 2kg of silver were seized. Investigators documented three houses in Bikaner city, one house in Punarasar and nearly 17 hectare of agricultural land as suspected assets. A senior police official said action followed verification of a "massive mismatch" between income and assets.
