Jaipur: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC)’s Vigilance Branch carried out an eviction drive Tuesday across several congested parts of the city, targeting temporary encroachments and unauthorised roadside occupation.
Officials seized 16 canters of goods, and imposed fines worth Rs 44,000 during the operation. The drive was aimed at easing congestion and restoring public spaces at key urban locations facing repeated encroachment issues.
“Temporary encroachments were removed at various locations, including Shiv Nagar (Nangal Pulia), 60 Feet Road (Surya Nagar off the Gopalpura Bypass Road), Patel Nagar (Gokhale Marg in Mansarovar), near Kids Public School (on New Sanganer Road), Barkat Nagar, Manohar Pura (in Jagatpura), Mayur Vihar (in Jagatpura), the RTO Office, the Lal Kothi Sabji Mandi, and near the Fortis Hospital (on JLN Marg), a JMC’s press release stated.
During the campaign, vigilance officials also counseled people found on-site and issued verbal warnings.
