Jaipur: Young squash sensation Divyanshi Jain from Jaipur is set to represent India at the prestigious Scottish Open and British Open Squash Championships. Both events are part of the European Squash Federation's Platinum series.
The Scottish Open will be held in Edinburgh from Dec 28 to 30, where Divyanshi, the current Under-13 No. 1 in India, has been seeded top. Other Indian players competing in the three-day tournament include Shreyans Jha, Aryaveer Singh, and Shanaya Parsarampuriya.
Following this, Divyanshi will head to Birmingham for the British Open Championship (Jan 2-6), featuring over 800 top players from around the world. Anahat Singh, part of India's recent Squash World Cup-winning team, will also vie for top honours, seeded top in her age category.
Divyanshi, a trainee at the Rajasthan Squash Academy, has been on a roll, recently winning the U-13 title at the 17th Kuala Lumpur International Junior Open Championship in Malaysia.
Surbhi Misra, vice-president of Squash Federation of India and director of Rajasthan Squash Academy, expressed pride in Divyanshi's selection, highlighting her consistent performance and potential to shine on the international stage.
