Vimal Choudhary, counsel for the petitioner, told the court that after his retirement from the post of governor in 2003, Singh was provided a house along with free electricity and water, a chauffer driven vehicle and five security men apart from other services free of cost. Excluding the rent of the house, electricity and water, an amount of Rs 5.86 crore has been spent till 2012 for the ex-governor.Itwascontendedby Choudhary that the former governor has misused his position to exploit the facilities provided to him.
“The Governor Emolument, Allowances and Privileges Act, 1982 does not provide them any such facilities which are being provided to Singh.
