Govt sets 15-day deadline for pension verification
Jaipur: Social Justice and Empowerment minister Avinash Gehlot Friday directed officials to complete verification of all remaining social security pension beneficiaries across Rajasthan within the next 15 days through a district-level campaign.Chairing a review meeting at Ambedkar Bhawan, the minister instructed district collectors to ensure 100% verification of elderly pensioners covered under social security schemes. He said the state govt is committed to achieving complete verification coverage.Officials informed the minister that Rajasthan has nearly 89 lakh social security pension beneficiaries, of which 96.50% have already been verified. Gehlot directed officials to verify the remaining 3.50% beneficiaries within the next fortnight through a focused drive.He also ordered deputation of officers from the department headquarters to the five districts with the highest number of pending verification cases to speed up the process and resolve issues.During the meeting, the minister reviewed progress on departmental schemes and budget announcements.
Officials said that of the 50 announcements made during 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27, work on 26 has been completed, 18 are under progress and implementation of six has started.Gehlot also reviewed scholarships, pension schemes, Palanhar Yojana, inter-caste marriage assistance, Mukhyamantri Anuprati Coaching Scheme, Divyang Scooty Scheme and welfare schemes related to silicosis relief and de-addiction centres. He directed officials to ensure effective implementation of all schemes.
